“I’m honoured to receive this award. I’d like to say thank you to everyone, thank you to the team. This season we’ve played some really good football,” the 17-year-old Sessegnon said.
Other winners on the night include Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson for Manager of the Year, and Brentford’s Daniel Bentley was named Goalkeeper of the Year over Adrian of West Ham, Thibaut Courtois of Chelsea, Heurelho Gomes of Watford and Hugo Lloris of Tottenham.
Arsenal’s Jordan Nobbs won Women’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
